Painting Slate

I had a piece of slate in the garage and decided to paint today.  I am by no means an artist but this is my "Picasso".  I will varnish it tomorrow and put it on a stake and put it in my backyard sanctuary.  Welcoming all my furry little friends.  I love sitting on the back porch with my morning cup of tea jut listening to the birds and nature.  If you are ever in my neighborhood please stop by for a cup of tea.

Magic Cookies

This is where the magic began.

Magic 5 Way Cookies

1 Can Eagle Brand Milk

1/2 cup Peanut Butter

Mix all together well.  Then add any of the following you want:

1 cup chopped nuts

2 cups bran flakes

2 cups raisins

2 cups Cornflakes

2 cups chopped dated

2 cups chocolate chips

Mix with above and bake at 350 for 10 - 12 minutes.  I put parchment paper on the pan. 

 I always use cornflakes, chocolate chips and nuts.  Never used any of the other things but I think it would be good to try something different.

Chocolate Chip Cookies anyone?

Hubby was so excited when he came home today to freshly made cookies.  He said he could smell them as soon as he got out of his car in the garage.  I love making things that put that homey feeling in my families heart, and nothing is better for that than cookies.  Everyone comes running when they smell these.  I use the recipe on the back of the bag with the one exception.  I put 1 tablespoon of Vanilla Extract instead of 1 teaspoon.  

I am brewing homemade Vanilla Extract at this time for Christmas gifts, I am making double strength so it will be very vanilla....  I will have a few extra's that I will be selling if you are interested.  Can't wait to make Christmas Cookies with my homemade Vanilla Extract.  Extra Special Good!!!!

What are you fixing for dinner?

This is what we had on Tuesday evening.  It is a new recipe and we loved it.  I get so tired of cooking the same ole thing, don't you?

This was easy and fast.  It only had 3 ingredients and baked for only 30 minutes.  So while the chicken was baking I cooked the rice and butter beans.  Dinner was done in 30 minutes and ready to eat.  That is the way to cook!

4 Chicken Breasts

3 teaspoons of Olive Oil

4 Garlic cloves, minced / chopped

3 tablespoons brown sugar

In a small pan, saute minced garlic in Olive Oil until tender.  Add brown sugar.

Put chicken into a lightly greased casserole dish, salt and pepper, pour brown sugar mixture over chicken and back at 450 for 30 - 45 minutes.  Leave in pan 5 minutes before serving.

Not what you expected?  

This is how I run my day....

I do my calendar every Thursday when I do my menu and grocery list.

I will try and explain this, it is so easy and keeps me on track.

I put my chores on the left side of each day

I put my dinner on the right side of each day.  That way I will look at it first thing in the morning, and see what I need to take out of the freezer.

Under the chores is the laundry load for the day.

I do 1 load of laundry each day.  Then you are not overwhelmed during the weekend.

Usually under the dinner are my appts. and errands I need to run for the day.

I try and do all my errands on Thursday and Friday.

Thursday errands are done by me alone.

Friday errands are done with my hubby, he only works half day on Fridays.

Under dinner and appts. are my Blog posts for the day.

This is new, so I will make sure to talk with you everyday.

Well, I probably won't talk to you on the weekends, I am always

with my hubby and grandbabies.

I always put Birthdays on the day.

The only thing I do different is write with a pencil, that way I can move things around if necessary.

I purchase this calendar usually in November and start filling it in when I have extra time.

I will fill in birthdays, anniversary's, some chores, (for example, flipping mattress, cleaning out vents,  things you only do a few times a year, etc)

This is the easiest way for me to keep up with things and keep me on tract.  Also, my hubby can look anytime and pick things he wants to do to help me out.  My hubby would rather choose his own chores... How funny is he??

I am also starting my Christmas Shopping.  OMGoodness, already.  If we start now maybe we can enjoy our Christmas with our family instead of running around like chickens with our heads cut off....  I am even making my holiday menu's.  That way I can start some food shopping too.

Best Cleaner Ever!

It all started with me searching the Internet looking for green cleaners that really worked.  I came across Shaklee Basic H..... I thought about it for a couple of days, went back to the site and ordered it with a couple of spray bottles..  It arrived several days later and I read the directions.  1/4 teaspoon in one spray bottle filled with water.  How can this clean anything?  Well, it must be magical, it cleans better than any thing I have ever used, green and chemical base.  It made my counter sparkles.  It made my Bathroom sparkle.  It made the toilet sparkle.  It made everything I sprayed it on sparkle.  I could not believe my eyes.  I also sprayed it on a micro-fiber cloth and attached it to my swifter, my hardwood floors sparkle.  I was so shocked.  OK, so I thought lets try the window cleaner, 2 drops in a water filled spray bottle, again, no way! Well again, it made my windows, mirrors and everything else sparkle.  And to top it off, it is green.  All natural.  How much better can it get, cleans, sparkles and 100% natural.  I have had the same bottle since August 2011 and still have 1/2 the bottle left.  Talk about cost effective.  I have saved so much money not purchasing cleaning products it is ridiculous.   Mimi's Magic Apron uses a magical cleaner called Shaklee Basic H.  If you have not tried Basic H you are really missing out... Been a busy day with dusting and vacuuming. 

 Cleaned the oven today, Hate to bake in a dirty oven, 

its like taking a bath in a dirty bath tub...YUK

Is was not as hot today so I spent some time outside working in

my flowers.  Don't you just love flowers?

Bought some Blue Daze yesterday so I planted in a container that fits on the window ledge. 

 I put it in front of the kitchen 

window so I can see flowers all the time...
